HydraTek® Process technology is a result of years of extensive research into human placental tissues and their application in a wide range of surgical and minimally invasive surgical procedures. This proprietary processing technology was developed to produce the most complete line of placental tissue grafts, providing optimized configurations for surgical and in-office applications. HydraTek® Process has revolutionized allograft tissue implants, storage and delivery by creating The Original Flowable Connective Tissue Matrix™ and The Original Ambient Flowable Tissue Matrix.™
HydraTek® Process has been independently shown to preserve the ExtraCellular Matrix (ECM), including a majority of collagen scaffolding components, growth factors, and other key biologic components, while maintaining an effective protein structure. It utilizes innovative technology to encapsulate the proteins and biologic components in a proprietary tissue matrix preservation system, scientifically control the moisture level of the amniotic membranes and preserve the natural fluid consistency of the flowable placental tissue matrix. HydraTek® Process is designed to improve biomechanical integrity and biological viability and eliminate potential damage caused by some industry processing methods. Those methods may include harsh chemicals, high-heat drying or lyophilization (freeze drying), which have been shown to denature proteins, cause collagen collapse, and/or disrupt the delicate tissue matrix and protein structure of these tissues.[3-6]
The comprehensive HydraTek® product line provides physicians with a distinct advantage in both handling and performance. HydraTek® membrane products are available in thin and thick configurations, and provide unique structural integrity and handling characteristics. HydraTek® flowable products are available in either cryopreserved or ambient (room) temperature storage versions, and allow precise targeting and delivery to the intended site.
